Illinois State Police said two recent traffic stops spurred the seizure of 61 pounds of marijuana and and $7,800 in cash.
Both of the seizures happened on Sunday.
The first was near Collinsville, where police stopped a motor home along Interstate 70. Police dogs indicated the presence of drugs, and authorities found five trash bags filled with 61 pounds of medical marijuana, valued at about $244,000, according to police.
John William Milliorn, 48, of El Paso, Texas, was arrested for drug trafficking.
Later that day, Rafael Reyes, 29, of Elgin, Texas, was arrested after being stopped along Interstate 70 near Fairmont City for having 530 grams of marijuana and $7,800 cash.
