ST. LOUIS • A 25-year-old man was shot early Sunday morning outside a Washington Avenue nightclub, police said.
The incident marks the second shooting in the Downtown West neighborhood in less than a week.
Police said the victim and suspect were arguing inside The City lounge nightclub at 1917 Washington around 2:15 a.m. and were asked to leave. The argument continued outside, and one man went to his car to retrieve a gun.
Police said the gunman then shot the victim twice in both thighs. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
The shooter was described as tall male with a mustache. He was wearing a gray jacket with red sleeves and blue jeans.
The shooting occurred just four blocks away from a shooting on Tuesday. In that incident, a motorist at North 18th and Olive streets was sitting in his car at stoplight at 10:50 p.m. when an unknown gunman shot him several times. He was critically injured.
Police had no witnesses to that shooting.
