TROY, MO. • A man from Minnesota was killed early this morning in a one-vehicle accident in Troy, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Scott A. Trom, 39, of Big Lake, Minn., was killed. The patrol said Trom was a passenger in a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Steven T. Buchanon, 21, of Troy, Mo.

The car was going south on Route J near Oak Forest Drive at about 1:15 a.m. when it went off the side of the road, authorities said.

The driver overcorrected, went off the other side of the road, hit a concrete driveway barrier and overturned onto its top.

Buchanon suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
