ST. LOUIS • A St. Louis man is accused of hitting and robbing a nun in the 4300 block of West Pine Boulevard in the Central West End, according to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office.
Darrell K. Hardin, 24, was charged Tuesday with second-degree robbery, stealing a credit card and misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card.
Hardin allegedly came up behind the nun on the street, hit her twice and then forcibly stole her purse about 10 a.m. Monday. He later bought gasoline with one of the stolen credit cards, according to the charges.
A gas station attendant who believed Hardin was acting oddly wrote down the license plate number on his car and tipped off police, who tracked him down and arrested him at his home.
Hardin is out on bond on a domestic assault charge, according to the circuit attorney's office.
