ST. LOUIS • Police were investigating an afternoon shooting in St. Louis that left one dead and one seriously injured.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Granville Place, just north of Minerva Avenue, for a shooting at about 12:25 p.m.

They arrived and found two males who had been shot, according to St. Louis Police Sgt. Terry Kowalczyk.

A man, 26, inside a Oldsmobile Intrigue sitting in front of an abandoned house, died at the scene. Another man, 19, was found in a nearby passageway with several gunshot wounds. He was in critical condition Friday night at a St. Louis hospital.

The car had been hit by about 30 bullets.

It's unclear if the 19-year-old man was also in the car at the time of the shooting.

Witnesses told police they saw a white Dodge Caliber drive from the shooting scene.
