SULLIVAN, MO. • A 43-year-old man from Pacific was struck by a Jeep and killed early Saturday morning as he walked in the roadway on the north outer road of Interstate 44 west of Sullivan.

The pedestrian, Scott Lamar, was pronounced dead at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Police said Lamar was hit at 3:15 a.m. by a Jeep Cherokee driven by 21-year-old Michael Heigl of Sullivan. Heigl was unhurt and apparently was not charged.
