ST. LOUIS • Andrey Levkovsky, 45, of Geanlee Drive, was charged Monday after a woman told police that she was sexually assaulted by a man posing as a police officer, court records show.

The victim, 27, told police that her attacker flashed a badge, told her she was trespassing, put her in handcuffs and said he was a St. Louis County police officer before taking her behind a building along the 4200 block of Gustine Avenue about 7 p.m. Thursday and sexually assaulting her.

The victim was with another person when she was confronted, but the second person was let go, police said.

Levkovsky is charged with forcible rape, armed criminal action, forcible sodomy, kidnapping and false impersonation of a law enforcement officer, charging documents show.

Christine Byers covers law enforcement for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
