ST. LOUIS • A St. Charles County man who threatened a St. Charles County judge, his daughter, prosecutors and an employee of the sheriff's office was sentenced Monday to 41 months in federal prison.
Alexander V. Long, 23, pleaded guilty in October to two federal counts of mailing threatening communications and one count of making an interstate transmission containing a threat and admitted sending threats through Facebook and the mail.
Long threatened to rape, stab and beat a judge's daughter, and threatened the others, including Prosecuting Attorney Jack Banas, prosecutor Gwendolyn Goeke and the girl's father, during the investigation of those threats.
In state charges that mirror the federal ones, Long is accused of harassing the girl via Facebook and email messages. After he was told to stop and the girl tried to block his messages, Long used an alias to continue but became "very angry" when he got no response, court documents claim, and began issuing threats.
Long is planning to plead guilty Friday in St. Charles County Circuit Court to state charges of stalking and animal abuse, said his lawyer for those charges, Richard Lozano. Lozano said any sentence would likely not extend beyond Long's federal prison stay.
