ST. LOUIS • A man fatally shot Tuesday in St. Louis was identified today as Emmett Terry, 26, of the 1900 block of Semple Avenue in St. Louis.

Terry was shot about 10:40 a.m. in the 4600 block of Oregon Avenue during a domestic quarrel with a woman, police said.

Police said the man's ex-girlfriend lived in the home in the city's Mount Pleasant neighborhood and that she had a restraining order against him. She told police Terry broke through the front door of the home.

Police are trying to determine who shot Terry because detectives believe there was more than one person inside the home.

Natachua Headd told the Post-Dispatch in an interview Tuesday that her sister was in the home when her sister's ex-boyfriend tried to break in. She said she believed her sister shot the ex-boyfriend.

Police were questioning at least two people in the killing.

Emily Rasinski of the Post-Dispatch contributed to this report.
