St. Louis police have identified the woman found dead along with a man in a home in the 5200 block of Wilson Avenue on Wednesday.

Allison Garcia, 38, was found dead inside the home that had burned after police received a call of a smell of smoke coming from the home.

Police said the male victim's name will be released pending next of kin notification. Both Garcia and the man lived in the home.

The homeowner's daughter, Maria Schulte, said she believes the man is in his 40s and has rented the dwelling for about 14 years.

Capt. Mike Pickett of the St. Louis Fire Department said it was an unusual fire in that it attracted no attention from outside the one-story brick-and-frame house in a neighborhood of tightly spaced homes. "Not even close neighbors knew anything about it," he said.
