ST. LOUIS • Two St. Louis men have been charged in the fatal shooting of a man last April in the city's Ville neighborhood, as well as a non-fatal shooting the same night a block away.
According to charges, Ralph Alexander, 20, and Dontrell Sanders, 25, were first involved in a drive-by shooting on the 4200 block of Aldine at around 8:10 p.m. on April 5. The victim told police that the two men had a longstanding feud with his girlfriend's family. He said both fired shots at him as he sat in his car.
About four minutes later, according to authorities, the two were involved in a fatal shooting on the 1500 block of Whittier Street. Police said Tracy D. Jones, 47, died from gunshot wounds to his chest and back as he sat in a car. A woman, 56, who was in the car with Jones, was shot in the the thigh. According to charges, Alexander was the shooter.
Alexander has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action. He was being held without bail.
Sanders has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of firing a gun from a vehicle and three counts of armed criminal action. He was jailed in lieu of a $250,000 cash bail.
Both men were indicted earlier this month.
