EAST ST. LOUIS • Police say a man was fatally shot early Wednesday morning over his objection to his daughter's relationship.
Police Chief Michael Floore said Chasity I. Butler and Devin D. Teer both were charged with one count each of first-degree murder in the death of Chadwick Butler.
Chadwick Butler, 38, suffered multiple gunshot wounds when he stepped out of his home at the 3500 block of Bond Avenue around 12:22 a.m. Wednesday. Officers responding to the scene found him in his driveway. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Floore said investigators believe Chadwick Butler was shot by Teer, Chasity Butler's boyfriend, while outside his home. They also believe Chasity Butler alerted her boyfriend to when her father was leaving the home.
