ST. CLAIR COUNTY • The car police believe was driven in a hit-and-run crash last week that killed a 9-year-old boy on his bike has been recovered on Laclede's Landing in St. Louis, authorities say.

Sheriff's deputies are now searching for a 16- or 17-year-old male from the Metro East who may have been driving the car during the crash, said Lt. Scott Weymouth of the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department. Authorities did not release any other information about the teen.

The child, Fabian Teson, died of injuries he suffered when he was struck about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Lorraine Drive near Cahokia.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators at 618-277-3505.

An online obituary for Fabian says a visitation is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia. A funeral service will start at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
