Six teachers at Kirkwood High School have been disciplined for inappropriate behavior that violated the district’s drug-free workplace and staff conduct policies.

The incident occurred after school on Friday, and no students were involved, said district spokeswoman Ginger Fletcher. The drug-free policy prohibits district employees from using or posessing alcohol or controlled substances on campus. The incident did not involve illegal drugs, Fletcher said.

The teachers were suspended with pay, but the district would not say for how long. Fletcher said the teachers would return before the end of the school year. The last day of school for students is May 24.
