What is your highest level of education?

High school diploma

What are your three priorities?

1. Full funding of education and social programs.

2. Create long-term living wage jobs.

3. Generate income for the state by cutting entitlement programs and closing tax loopholes for large corporations and the wealthy, making them responsible for their fair share of this tough economic burden.

What are your qualifications for the office you seek?

Being in business for the last 35 years dealing with the public in their best and worst of times has helped me understand the difference between right and wrong and the difference between doing what is right versus what is easy. I do understand you cannot simply cut your way to economic recovery. Legislators must find ways to create jobs and revenue for the state and stop cutting programs that can least afford the cuts.

What is your highest level of education?

Law school

What are your three priorities?

The 71st is unique because we have 22 municipalities, the most of any district in the state. Everyone says they will fight for public school or better jobs. I have been actually fighting for our schools and jobs. I have opened a law office in the district bringing real jobs. I have been engaged with the school district. I have also fought for transparency and accountability at our local fire district.

What are your qualifications for the office you seek?

As an attorney, small-business owner, alderman and community activist I have the skills and qualifications to get the job done in Jefferson City. One of the ways I have proven my dedication is by donating countless hours of work fighting the Normandy Fire District. I, and others, saved the taxpayers nearly $1 million and took nothing in return. I understand our needs. I will be the voice for everyone in the district.

Jobs/education/health care. Our economy is dependent on manufacturing as a base. Service and merchandizing jobs will follow the manufacturing. To attract manufacturing we must have an educated and capable workforce; we must provide modern schools and competent teachers. But none of this will help if we can't keep our children in class. To bring all this together; capable workforce, competent teachers and students in class; good health care is mandatory.

1. My number one goal is to help Missouri attract good paying jobs, with benefits, that can support a family again.

2. I also support schools which remain the best hope for children to accomplish their dreams, secure a career and have a good life.

3. Missouri must also maintain a balanced budget. I support living within our means. This means we sometimes have to vote against popular programs and limit the growth of government.

What are your qualifications for the office you seek?

I've worked with Democrats and Republicans to forge Missouri's strategy to attract more jobs.

I've earned a reputation as someone who does his homework and can forge consensus. I was asked by the Republican speaker of the house to serve on a task force on economic development, served on the budget conference committee and was just appointed to serve on a task force to help balance the budget.

Jobs are far and away my top priority. I will work hard to help Governor Nixon protect our investments in economic development, education and health care as much as possible in this adverse budget climate. The current budget situation demonstrates that our legislature's leaders did not learn the lessons of the shortfalls in 2001-2003. When things turn around, we need to make sure vital services will be better protected

What are your qualifications for the office you seek?

Nine years on the Affton Board of Education have taught me the importance of working hard to make a difference in the community. We decreased debt, rolled back $6.25 million in taxes, increased teacher pay substantially, doubled our investment in English language learner instruction and built additions to three buildings. Our hard work and investment paid off. Student performance on state tests improved significantly and Affton won accreditation with distinction seven times.
