ST. LOUIS -- The man who would-be speaker if Republicans take the U.S. House will be in town Saturday to raise money for the man who would-be congressman if he can unseat Democratic incumbent Russ Carnahan.
Republican Minority Leader -- and House Speaker in waiting -- John Boehner will headline a fundraiser Saturday for Republican Congressional hopeful Ed Martin, who is hoping for continued momentum to grab the seat held for many years by former Democratic presidential contender Dick Gephardt.
“Bar-b-que with Boehner” will be held at a private home in Town and County. Hosts include Fred Sauer, chairman of the Missouri Roundtable for Life, and Tim Drury, whose family founded the Drury Inn chain of hotels.
Boehner will also, according to Missourinet, be in Jefferson City over the weekend to raise money for Vicky Hartzler, who is challenging veteran Democrat Ike Skelton.
