ST. LOUIS -- It's no surprise that Republican Senate hopeful Roy Blunt has invoked the names of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi in ads targeting his rival.
But Democrat Robin Carnahan?
Today, Carnahan unveiled a new ad featuring the president and the House Speaker -- as cardboard cutouts.
"Congressman Roy Blunt -- he seems to think he's running for the Senate against Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi," Carnahan says as the camera focuses on the two-dimensional versions of the Democratic leaders.
"Hey, Roy," Carnahan says. "You're running against me!"
Carnahan has traveled the campaign trail with the refrain of knowing "bull" when she sees it.
In this ad, there are actual bulls, who are getting their feed from Carnahan, wearing a plaid shirt and work gloves.
While Carnahan does run the family cattle operation near Rolla, it's not the one pictured in the ad. The piece was filmed at an adjoining farm run by a family friend.
An earlier spot from the Carnahan campaign shows her ranch -- horses and all.
