St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley began airing the first television commercials Thursday afternoon in his campaign for re-election.
Dooley's spots slam his Republican opponent as "Bailout Bill Corrigan," focusing on Corrigan's multiple refinancing of his mortgage while he served as a director at Pulaski Bank, which got a $32 million TARP bailout. The ad also notes that Dooley released his tax returns while Corrigan has not.
Meanwhile, the Corrigan campaign launched a new television commercial this week and the second of its campaign. The ad spotlighted the candidate's college job as an assembly line worker at the old General Motors plant in north St. Louis. The commercial goes on to blame Dooley for over 40,000 jobs that have been lost in the county in recent years.
