St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley's reelection fund-raising effort crossed the $2.5 million mark in mid-October.
Bill Corrigan, his Republican challenger, is slightly more than $1 million behind Dooley in fund raising. but he kept pace in the 21-day reporting period.
The two have raised nearly $4 million for their campaigns, campaign finance reports they filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission said. State law requires candidates and campaign committees in the Nov. 2 election to file reports eight days before the vote.
State law requires the reports eight days before the Nov. 2 election. The documents provide totals of fundraising and spending thus far and details of these two activities between Oct. 1 and Oct. 21.
Thus far, Dooley raised $2,503,997.79 and spent $2,243,865.18. In the reporting period, he raised $113,453.49 and spent $825,585.56.
Corrigan, meanwhile has raised $1,464,203.69 and spent $1,285,182.78 thus far. In the reporting period, he raised $103,574 and spent $454,977.30.
Theo "Ted" Brown Sr., the Liberatrian candidate for county executive, said he has neither raised nor spent more than $500.
