ST. LOUISLt. Gov. Peter Kinder will be the beneficiary of this Tuesday's big Republican fundraiser in Chesterfield, but he might not be the star attraction.

Kinder will hold what amounts to a cash kick-off for his campaign for governor at Hunter Farms, the west St. Louis County home of super GOP boosters Kimmy and Steve Brauer.

And, as far as political timing goes, organizers couldn't have scored a better special guest: Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who appears to be finally taking serious calls to get into the race for the White House.

After addressing grass roots activists in New Orleans over the weekend, Perry will mingle with the wealthiest Republican benefactors in St. Louis at the Kinder fundraiser.

The invitation lists as co-chairs members of the beer Busches — Virginia and August Busch III —and the White House Bushes, Patty and Bucky Bush, kin to presidents 41 and 43.

Millionaire investment guru Rex Sinquefield, Rental car king Jack Taylor and philanthropist Sam Fox are also chairing the event.

Because the fundraiser is geared towards filling Kinder's election coffers, state campaign laws —which, unlike federal rules, put no limit on the amount an individual can donate — are in place.

That will allow Kinder to charge up to $25,000 for a top-ticket package that includes participation at a private roundtable at the Hunter Farm's pool house, admittance to the cocktail reception and a photo opportunity with Perry.
