GRANITE CITY • Two men were being treated at St. Louis University Hospital Friday for injuries that police believe they inflicted on each other.
Police Chief Richard Miller said police were called to an apartment in the 1600 block of Delmar Avenue about 7 a.m. and found a door that had been forced open and a resident who had been severely beaten.
The man said he shot one of his attackers and police soon located a suspect who had been shot in the face.
Miller said the men's injuries were not considered life-threatening. He said they knew each other and police believe there had been an ongoing dispute, possibly concerning drugs. Police were seeking a second suspect in the beating.
