BELLEVILLE • Police say a man who left a Belleville nursing home last weekend was found dead this morning in a nearby wooded area.
Aubrey Giles, 75, who had dementia and left the Midwest Rehab assisted-living center at 727 North 17th Street on Saturday without a coat, was found Monday morning near a creek near the nursing home.
Staff noticed Giles was missing about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. He had a heart condition and required daily medication.
Police said Giles was found in a wooded area near the nursing home, but details of exactly where and how Giles was found were not immediately available.
