Hazelwood • A Hazelwood man is in custody on multiple charges after a woman said her former boyfriend fired a shot at her from an assault rifle Sunday during a domestic disturbance.

Rashidi Greer, 21, of Hazelwood, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say an officer was investigating an unrelated call near the 8400 block of Latty Avenue when he heard a single gunshot around 12:15 p.m. The officer also was contacted by a woman who said that her former boyfriend had fired a rifle at her. The woman was unharmed.

Police say that Greer was seen running into his house and officers from Hazelwood, Berkeley and the Missouri Highway Patrol set up a perimeter around the home. Police made phone contact with Greer during a brief standoff and then took him into custody without incident.

A second woman was found inside the home unharmed. Police recovered two firearms inside the house.
