Join Linda Wilson of the Missouri Department of Transportation, Todd Waelterman of the St. Louis Streets Division and David Wrone of the St. Louis County Department of Highways and Traffic each Wednesday at 1 p.m. for the Road Crew, an online chat about local traffic and transportation issues. Submit questions at stltoday.com/chat. Transcripts of past discussions also are available. Here is an excerpt from last week's chat:

Kevin: As part of the I-64 project, an additional lane on I-270 was added northbound between I-64, and Olive and the exit-only lane at Ladue eliminated. Is this going to be reset? Also, at Page Avenue and I-170, the exit lane from eastbound Page to southbound I-170 was extended past Seven-Up Drive. It seems very tight in that area with the lanes shifting some in the middle of the Seven-Up intersection. Is this going to be reset?

Linda Wilson: Yes. We have a contractor working now at night to resurface I-270 between Olive and Manchester. As part of this work, the final striping will put northbound I-270 back the way it used to be between I-64 and Ladue.

No. The exit right lane eastbound Page past 7-Up Drive to the southbound I-170 ramp will stay. Our traffic engineers have reviewed it and it appears to have improved traffic flow. It is tight with the wall. We will continue to watch this, but for now we are leaving it.

Jim Person: I see some new street lights in the Olive and Lindbergh area near Monsanto. Are these lights LEDs? If so is there a plan to increase the use of LED street lights around the area?

Linda Wilson: Yes. We just did a lighting replacement project at this interchange. We are testing LEDs. This is new to the highway industry and we are trying this because they are much more energy efficient and have a longer life. We hope to develop a new standard practice for our overhead lighting.

Todd Bennett: Are there any future plans to expand the lanes/bridges across the Meramec River in the Valley Park area to help with congestion on 141 during rush hour? Thanks.

Linda Wilson: We are studying a long term plan to rebuild the I-44 and Highway 141 interchange. There are no funds for this anytime soon.
