BRANSON, Mo. • The St. Louis Post-Dispatch received 36 awards in the annual Missouri Press Foundation Better Newspaper Contest. The awards were presented Saturday at the Missouri Press Association convention in Branson.

Taking first-place honors for the Post-Dispatch were: Bill McClellan, best humorous columnist; Christine Byers, best news story; Chris Lee, best photo package, Vahe Gregorian and Stu Durando, best sports news story or package; Bryan Burwell, best sports columnist; Matthew Hathaway, best business story; Jake Wagman, best coverage of government, and Best Newspaper in Education program.
