CRESTWOOD -- A Schnucks grocery store in Crestwood is recalling beef sold in a 4 1/2-hour period Sunday morning because it might have metal shavings in it.

The store is at 9540 Watson Road.

A worker noticed that the meat grinder was damaged, which could mean that metal shavings ended up in the meat.

Schnucks says 12 packages of ground beef were sold between 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

No injuries have been reported, and no customers have reporting finding shavings in the meat. Schnucks says the recall is being done as a precaution.

The Crestwood store on Watson Road is the only Schnucks store affected by this recall.
