PEVELY • City officials have denied an appeal to allow the Pure Pleasure Boutique to obtain licenses to operate, one of the store's owners said Monday.
Don Kleinhans said Monday night that the city denied a business license for the store at 8600 Daniel Dunklin Boulevard, again saying the owners did not properly complete paperwork and that an adult store could not be located in a commercial business zone.
City Administrator Happy Welch has said store owners feel he is misinterpreting the city's rules. He disagrees.
Neither Welch nor other city officials could be reached Monday night.
Kleinhans, who owns the store and several others with his father and brother, said they plan to take the dispute to court.
