Lucie Springmeyer, senior vice president of Forest Park Forever, said the dual path -- which separates wheeled trail users from those on foot -- is expected to be finished by the end of November thanks to a $3 million donation by philanthropist Mary Ann Lee and the Crawford Taylor Foundation. Once completed, it will circle the park's perimeter.
Half of the donation was for construction, Springmeyer said. The other half will be placed in an endowment to maintain the path.
Tonight's meeting will ask for public input about the kinds of amenities users would like to see along the path, Springmeyer said. Restrooms and drinking fountains are examples, she said, but the group is looking for a variety of ideas.
Forest Park Forever Executive Director Lesley Hoffarth and Park Operations Manager Bill Reininger will be on-hand tonight.
Those who cannot attend the meeting are encouraged to take an online survey.
