A teenager attempting to cross Interstate 55 south of Bates Street in south St. Louis with two of his friends was struck by a car and killed Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. Ean McDaniel, 14, of the 2900 block of Abner Place, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His two friends safely reached the median of the southbound expressway when the car struck McDaniel, police said.
