ST. LOUIS • Federal prosecutors say a former finance officer at a Fenton internet marketing company has admitted to embezzling his employer's money to pay his own mortgage and for personal expenses.
Terry Tonsing Jr., 35, of Oakville, a finance officer for C2 Communications, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of mail fraud, prosecutors said today. He was accused of spending $68,000 using a company ATM/debit card on food, travel expenses, entertainment and his home mortgage between 2003 and 2007. Prosecutors say he concealed the spending by having his employer's bank statements maled to his home address.
As a result, prosecutors say, Tonsing fell behind in making business expenses, including $15,000 in federal taxes.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 24.
