OVERLAND • The Major Case Squad has arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man on Tuesday evening.
Trice Edwards, 28, of the 2300 block of Gaebler Avenue in Overland, has been charged with one count each of first-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree assault. He was taken into custody Thursday night, Overland Police Chief Michael Laws said.
Officials have said Chris Scott Nelson, of the 4200 block of Edgewood Boulevard in Northwoods, was sitting in a car with a woman outside a friend's home in the 9900 block of Baltimore Avenue when someone opened fire.
A woman with Nelso was hospitalized after being shot in the face.
Laws said no other information, including a motive or any relationship between the victim and suspect, was available.
Edwards is being held in lieu of $500,000 cash-only bail.
