ST. LOUIS   •   Police say a man suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh Sunday afternoon as he was dropping off his teen-aged children with relatives.

The man, 36, was standing outside a home about 1:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Enright Avenue when shots were fired from the back seat of a black sport utility vehicle that had slowed down, police said. The shooting was in the city's Vandeventer neighborhood.

The man's relatives took him to a hospital for treatment; he is expected to recover. The teens, 19 and 17, were in the car during the shooting and were not injured.

Police believe the victim, who is from out-of-town and visiting relatives here, may have been an unintended target.

Police said three men in the SUV drove off after the shooting.
