ST. LOUIS • A fire this morning damaged several rowhomes in the 2800 block of Accomac Street.

No injuries were reported, as residents and pets escaped safely, said St. Louis Fire Capt. Dan Sutter.

The fire was reported about 11:40 a.m. on the top floor of a three-story rowhome, Sutter said. Two of the rowhomes sustained damage on their top floors; rooms on the floors below may have also had some water and smoke damage.

The fire forced two families out of their homes, Sutter said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
