ST. LOUIS • A town hall meeting tonight in St. Louis will convene more than 100 St. Louis area teachers to address student dropouts and other problems facing America's classrooms.
The televised town hall is the first of 12 similar events across the country hosted by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting aimed at discussing solutions for preventing students from dropping out of school.
Tonight's town hall is part of national program called the "American Graduate: Let's Make it Happen," airing on dozens of PBS stations across the country.
The town hall will be televised at 7 p.m. on KETC Channel 9. Gwen Ifill, a correspondent for PBS NewsHour, will moderate the town hall meeting.
