Services have been set for Lucianna Gladney Ross, the force behind the restoration of Kimmswick. She died Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2012) at her St. Louis home after a lingering illness. She was 96.
Her work in Kimmswick included buying property there in the 1960s, leasing buildings to shopkeepers and helping them redevelop the property, prompting a revival in the 1970s and 1980s.
She also led a project to take down old log buildings from surrounding areas and re-assemble them in Kimmswick.
Visitation for Ms. Gladney Ross is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
