LAKE SAINT LOUIS • A late-night fire severely damaged a Lake Saint Louis home Monday.
Chief Jeff Smith of the Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District, said the blaze at 14 Bayside Court started about 11:45 p.m., while the occupants were away. Neighbors called 911, he said. He said the attic had heavy fire in it when firefighters arrived.
Smith said the fire's cause remained under investigation, but it appeared to start in an upstairs bedroom near where a lamp, laptop computer and cell phone charger may have been plugged in.
Smith said extensive damage to the home llikely made it a total loss.
