Area DWI offenders avoid convictions
The dashboard cam in a Town and Country police cruiser captures the DWI arrest of John D. McGuire in Sept. 2007. The officer said he observed McGuire swerving at 100 mph on Interstate 64 (Highway 40). McGuire's
blood alcohol content tested at more than three times the legal limit.
Months later, he showed up drunk to court to accept a plea deal that kept a conviction off his record, and was arrested for DWI in the parking lot. In that case, another judge gave him a similar deal.
