State-by-state look at medical marijuana laws

In 1996, California became the first state to allow marijuana for medical use. Since then, 15 other states and the District of Columbia have followed. On Nov. 13, Arizona became the 15th state to allow medical marijuana. At least six other states have pending legislation; such legislation failed in Missouri.
