Robert Schimmel • The standup comic who was a frequent guest on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and on Howard Stern's radio show died Friday after suffering serious injuries in a car accident. He was 60. The Scottsdale, Ariz., resident's 2008 memoir, "Cancer on $5 a Day," chronicles his battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Paul Conrad • The political cartoonist who won three Pulitzer Prizes and used his pencil to poke at politicians for more than 50 years died Saturday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 86. Mr. Conrad took on U.S. presidents from Harry S Truman to George W. Bush, mostly in the LA Times, where he worked for 30 years.
