James Lee, the eco-terrorist who took hostages at the Discovery Channel headquarters, admitted in his manifesto that he was "awakened" by Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth." Should we now expect Nancy Pelosi to call for investigations into who was funding the left-wing, incendiary hate-speech that incited Lee to this extreme behavior? Will Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann rant about how the contents of Gore's documentary are "dangerous" and "irresponsible?" Will Al Sharpton deem Lee's leftist agenda "racist?" In all cases, the answer is a resounding "no" since Lee was seemingly motivated by the sacred liberal agenda. Funny how quiet it becomes when the shoe in on the other foot.
The bottom line is that Lee was a mentally unstable individual who acted out in a violent and unpredictable fashion. It was no more the fault of the climate change crowd as was Timothy McVeigh's actions the fault of conservative talk radio. A valuable lesson can be learned from this unfortunate situation: crazy people do crazy things and there isn't much we can do to predict or prevent them from doing so. With this in mind, the left needs to practice a little less knee-jerk and apply a little more common sense.
