A letter written by Martin Walsh in the "Your View" section on 2/02/2012 was merely a partisan rant based on untrue statements. If Mr. Walsh would merely read the legislation that was passed in Missouri, he would find that anyone born before 01/01/1941 would be allowed to vote by merely signing for their ballot, as anyone does, and having the election judge compare the signature, as they always do.
There are other provisions for other situations also discussed in the legislation. No one is being denied their voting rights.
Any citizen, including Mr. Walsh, should be happy that ineligible voters would not be allowed to vote. If Mr. Walsh does not agree with this piece of legislation, he should contact his elected official and suggest his own method instead of ranting and trying to elicit political favor by using misleading and untrue "facts".
It is every citizen's right to have their own opinion but not their own facts. Don't use your own facts to create a situation that does not exist in an attempt to make a political statement!
