The Normandy and Riverview school districts want to bus their students to other school districts and will pay for the students' transportation to these other districts. However, I have not heard anyone talk about other costs that are involved in this decision.

A large portion of the real estate taxes that taxpayers pay go toward the schools in their respective districts. Normandy and Riverview Gardens school districts should also pay the receiving school districts a portion of the tax revenue that they receive to offset the additional costs required to educate these students. Also I would expect that the Normandy and Riverview school boards and teachers lose their jobs and without any special compensation for termination.
