The competition for the loyalty of St. Louis taste buds is heating up! Famous for its secret-recipe, made-to-order Olga Bread and the Original Olga® sandwich, Michigan-based Olga's Kitchen® is set to open its first Missouri restaurant in Chesterfield Mall on June 28. Last February, the company announced plans to open multiple locations in St. Louis.
Olga's Kitchen is known throughout the Midwest for its premium Olga sandwiches and its craveable, made-to-order, secret recipe bread. It is a full-service - including dine-in and carryout options - family casual restaurant offering a welcoming smoke-free and alcohol-free environment. Olga's menu includes many signature Salads, a selection of Soups, and a complete line of Fresh Fruit Smoothies. Olga's currently has more than 30 restaurants in the U.S., including two just east of St. Louis-one in Alton, Illinois, which has been serving craveable sandwiches since 1980, and one in Fairview Heights, Illinois which opened in 1979.
"St. Louis has such a rich history when it comes to food and restaurants, so it was a natural choice for expansion," said Matt Carpenter, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for Olga's Kitchen®. "We are really excited about bringing our signature bread and sandwiches to Chesterfield and the greater St. Louis community as a whole, and look forward to opening more Olga's Kitchens in the area."
To kick off its grand opening, Olga's Kitchen is partnering with Operation Food Search by donating 10% of its profits to the local food distribution warehouse. Operation Food Search distributes more than 1.5 million pounds of food and household items to 250 community partner agencies that in turn feed 100,000 poor people every month - nearly half of them children.
"Operation Food Search relies on the public and the business community for support in order to provide food to the needy in our area," explained Sunny Schaefer, Operation Food Search Executive Director. "We are so impressed with the generosity of Olga's Kitchen and the fact that the company has been so quick to embrace the St. Louis community."
In addition, Olga's Kitchen will be offering prizes to visitors who stop by during it's opening weekend, including a chance to win one of five $1,000 Chesterfield Mall shopping sprees and five "Olga's For a Year" cash cards.
Olga's Kitchen at Chesterfield Mall is located on the second level in the Macy's wing, next to Abercrombie & Fitch. Complementing its signature sandwiches, this Olga's Kitchen will also boast a Suncoast SmoothiesTM counter featured along side the restaurant's Good-to-Go area. Suncoast SmoothiesTM offers individually blended fresh fruit smoothies with power boosters. With a tremendous variety of flavor options, Suncoast SmoothiesTM is the perfect, healthy option for hungry shoppers or those that want to "chill" and use the FREE WiFi service.
