Alton, IL - Nickelodeon, the number one entertainment brand for kids and Alton Square Mall invite area kids to meet Uniqua the star of The Backyardigans, on March 8 at Alton Square Mall. The Nickelodeon costumed character will be in JCPenney Court in twenty-minute intervals from 11 am to 2 pm. Uniqua will be available to pose with kids and families to take photos (parents must bring their own camera). In addition, the Easter bunny will make his debut at Center Court on the same day at 11 am and will be at the mall through March 21. There will be events planned throughout the day such as face painting, clowns, raffles, and more. All proceeds from the days activities will go to The Boys & Girls Club of Alton. The top-rated half-hour animated series airs regularly Monday through Friday on Nick Jr. at 10:30 a.m. (ET/PT). Each half-hour episode of The Backyardigans features a unique music/dance genre with four original songs, along with real choreographed movements recreated in animation. On The Backyardigans, the five high-spirited neighbors meet in their adjoining backyards and use their imaginations to transform themselves into different locations for epic adventures. Uniqua Uniqua is her name and her species. She's graceful, agile, and as light on her feet as a ballerina. But when it comes to playing, she's more "adventure" than "ballet."
