This coming Monday, April 27, Noon-1pm, at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) Auditorium B on the campus of SLU School of Medicine, 1402 South Grand, 63104.
Don Lassus, a medical volunteer with Doctors for Global Health, http://www.dghonline.org/, will speak about the practice of Liberation Medicine within the political and religious context of rural El Salvador. The presidential elections in El Salvador will bring the opposition party, FMLN, under the banner of president-elect Mauricio Funes into power for the first time. Come hear how this may affect Salvadoran healthcare, and about how you can aid the practice of international health guided not by the grand plans of international aid agencies, but rather by local Salvadoran communities seeking solidarity!
This event is open to the public.
