MORE ABOUT THE FILM:  The grassroots Award Winning documentary, ‘From The 50 Yard Line,' will make its Gulf Coast Premiere on June 7 as indicated above.  Students, parents and musicians are embracing this little independent film, across the country and around the world.  As one example, the film showed in March for over 800 people in 2 days at Roosevelt H.S. in Sioux Falls, S.D.  Having also toured more than 18 film festivals worldwide in the last 8 months and winning 9 awards, this endearing little film now spreads its wings in an effort to help under-funded and struggling music programs across the country.  The film shows marching band as you have never seen it, complete with the rewards of disciplined practice, the often overlooked artistry, and the life changing effects of instrumental music education.   In the next few months, the film will screen at special Benefit Screenings hosted by, and supporting, school music programs in states all over the country, as well as at Film Festivals.  Many more screenings are being planned in other schools across the country by request and awareness of this film's significance will continue to grow as word spreads about this worthy cause.  Instrument donation drives are also encouraged in conjunction with these screenings in order to collect instruments to be placed in schools that desperately need them.  Instrumental Music Education is struggling in the United States, and statistics show that approximately 20% of our nation's schools do not have any instrumental music education classes whatsoever.  Let's get on the band wagon!
