Dan Borgmeyer, President/CEO of Borgmeyer Marketing Group, spoke about advertising, technology, and opportunities available to business owners in the midst of a recession.
FARMINGTON, Mo. - More than 100 area business leaders gathered into Farmington's Civic Center to listen to veteran marketing expert Dan Borgmeyer speak to surviving and prospering in a recession. Meeting organizers, Farmington Chamber of Commerce and SCORE of St. Louis, invited Borgmeyer to speak to the close knit business community known for their enthusiasm and involvement.
Borgmeyer, owner and founder of Borgmeyer Marketing Group (BMG) since 1973, has survived four recessions. He spoke to Chamber members from past and current experiences that have helped his own business, and those which he represents, thrive. BMG represents local entrepreneurs and large businesses nationwide.
Today's consumers are pro-active and seek out their information from a variety of channels. Direct mail, print, radio, and television still play a powerful role in branding and message; however, companies can no longer ignore social media giants like Facebook and YouTube.
Borgmeyer's message focused on understanding your customers and where they are, knowing your business' unique selling proposition, and choosing an effective strategy to communicate. Borgmeyer "delivered one of the most informative and relevant presentations to date," shared member Alfonso Guerrero.
"We use Dan on a fairly consistent basis to speak to our public groups. He's an entrepreneur himself and has a special way of connecting to the business owners who come to us for advice. He can relate and they sense that," says Bob Boles, SCORE Counselor.
A question and answer period followed the presentation so attendees could address their specific areas of concern.
