St. Louis based G2Power Technologies Awarded Contract for what will be perhaps "The World's Largest Solar Warm Air Collector Array" for the Missouri Department of Transportation St. Clair Facility.

St. Louis, MO based G2Power Technologies, llc, contracted by the General Contracting firm of J.E. Foster Building Company, will be providing and installing, what is perhaps to be the World's Largest Solar Warm Air Collector Array to the Missouri Department of Transportation's St. Clair Road Equipment Facility, in December 2009/January 2010. Two buildings at the site will incorporate Solar Thermal Systems in to their design. Building A, the larger of the Solar Warm Air Systems, will under optimal conditions be able to produce 320,000 BTU/day of Solar Heated Air for the structure. Building A will also incorporate two Solar Hot Water Systems. One for the truck washing equipment at the site and a second for domestic hot water purposes such as crew showers and other domestic water uses. Building E will also incorporate Solar Warm Air panels. This system will be the primary heat source for the building.

According to Daniel Poett, President of G2Power: "The incorporation of Solar Thermal Systems in to MODOT's design plans represents MODOT's evolution in to a public entity that is leading the way in incorporating modern renewable energy technology in to their sites. They recognize the long term viability and cost effectiveness of renewable energy and how it can be utilized to reduce the costs associated with buildings that are a necessary part of their day to day operations. MODOT is proving that they are dedicated to long term strategies for resolving issues related to rising fuel costs and reduction of carbon emissions. It was a pleasure working with the staff at MODOT. It was apparent upon meeting with them that they were already very much aware of the effectiveness of Solar Technologies and the benefits to them as an organization. This project shows their strong commitment to Renewable Energy and their dedication to leading the way for other Missouri entities wanting to incorporate renewable energy in to their sites."
