Sept. 25, 2009: ST. LOUIS -B. Michael Korte of The Korte Law Firm will receive the Workers' Compensation Distinguished Lawyer Award at the Seventh Annual Workers' Compensation Distinguished Lawyer Award Ceremony at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis on Oct. 6.

The award, which is jointly presented by The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BASML) and Kids' Chance Inc. of Missouri, publicly recognizes workers' compensation attorneys whose honesty, integrity, competence, zeal, selflessness and leadership have earned the respect of the community and their peers. Award recipients are recognized as the ultimate exemplars of professionalism and integrity.  Korte is the seventh recipient of the award.

"I am grateful to receive this honor," said Korte. "I consider this award the crowning achievement of my career."

In 2008, Korte was named a fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Attorneys, an organization established to honor attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice of workers' compensation law. He is the author of a popular legal reference book on Missouri workers' compensation law, formerly served as president of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and prior to that, as chair of The Missouri Bar's Workers' Compensation Committee and president of Kids' Chance Inc. of Missouri.

Korte currently serves on the boards of the Workers' Law and Advocacy Group, a national workers' compensation bar association, and Bridgeway Behavioral Health.  He is also an Ambassador for the Kirkwood Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce.
