Kirkwood, Mo. - At its meeting on Jan. 22, the Kirkwood Board of Education announced the appointment of Dr. Michele Condon as principal of Nipher Middle School for the 2008-09 school year. Dr. Condon currently serves as the principal of Bernard Middle School in the Mehlville School District. She began her professional career in education as an eighth grade classroom teacher and departmental reading teacher. Dr. Condon has 25 years of experience in working with elementary and middle school students, both as a teacher and principal.

She holds a doctorate in educational leadership and an education specialist degree from St. Louis University, a master's degree in education from the National Louis University in Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in education from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo. "I believe that Dr. Condon's experience, concern for students and passion for learning will enable Nipher's students to continue to excel," said Dr. David Damerall, superintendent of schools.

Dr. Condon will begin her new position on July 1, upon the retirement of Dr. Carol Migneron, who has served the Nipher school community with skill and integrity for the past 17 years.
